HATTON GARDEN TRAIL & FESTIVAL 2009

Article text
The Hatton Garden Trail and Festival took place from 11 - 13 June 2009.

The three-day trail saw retailers, manufacturers and designers opening their doors to the public (many for the first time) for an exclusive insight into their business. Urbaneer's Hatton Garden Game invited visitors to explore the area to find out the answers to the treasure trail questions, with a chance to win a £1,000 piece of bespoke jewellery designed and made by Hatton Garden-based craftsmen.

Saturday 13 June saw a very sunny Hatton Garden come alive with a street party, including acoustic musicians, fine food market, costumed actors, free jewellery valuations, children's gem hunts and jewellery making, guided walks of the area and a fantastic outdoor manufacturing tent, curated by Jacobs Jeweller Design, where visitors could see each stage involved with making a ring - with a chance to win the rings on the day!

A series of free jewellery workshops and talks by Holts Academy encouraged participation and the addition of part of The Museum Of London's priceless Elizabethan collection, The Cheapside Hoard, offered visitors an exclusive look at one of London's most fascinating historical jewellery collections.
